Today is Robert Zimmerman’s birthday, our very favorite Bob. Cheers to you, Mr. Dylan. And cheers to our ears, for allowing us to hear his wonderful music! Anatomy of the human ear picture, $65

This delightful anatomical picture will go fast, grab it while you can! (Taken with Instagram at The Chief Salvage)
Went pickin yesterday….left right at the crack of dawn with my (outdated) GPS set for Bobcaygeon. Needless to say, I had the Tragically Hip song in my head the wholllllle drive. Managed to skate around the insane long-weekend traffic, spend a few hours plowing through a barn sale, went to an auction, got lost, ate mint chocolate chip ice cream, (Kawartha Dairy country, so it would be rude not to!), bought blueberry pie off some Mennonites (does anyone know what language they speak? It sounds like they were talking backwards. Kinda like the dream sequences in Twin Peaks. I dug it.)
But the cherry on top of my day was definitely meeting Terry, the Elvis impersonator! (photos to come…maybe)
So come by the shop this weekend and check out some of our fun new finds! My personal favorite pick? Large framed ‘Anatomy of the Ear’ chart. Anything medical, sign me up!
Love,
The Chief

Summer means three things to us here at the Chief: patios, ice cold cruisers, and SUMMER READING! Particularly books about neat stuff you’re friends will think you are super cool for reading. We’ve got lots of those, from books on the life of a Medium (Death Cannot Kill) to advice on success and happiness from the days of Solomon to present time (The Royal Path of Life- published 1882). Come by and check them out! Bring coolies!
Fact: the earliest known form of taxidermy dates back to the 16th century. Our latest batch are not that old… But they sure are pretty. Come take a look!
